Wanting paradise is a virtue since it's a place of closeness to God. Also, where do you get the notion that taking care of yourself is wrong? Indeed doing things to take of yourself is most important before one can try to wish well for another person's well-being. You have to have peace of mind to spread peace of mind to others.

And fearing hell is a virtue since it's a place of distance to God.

And indeed the great hope should be love for God and love for God, and greatest fear should be to have hate towards God and hate from God.

May God guide us in the ways that lead to the balanced love we are meant to have, where our love is not mixed with dark intentions but is sincerely for the sake of God. Amen

Do you even know what the word 'virtue' means?

It means having high moral standards.  Those with high moral standards need no punishment nor reward to be good.  They only need to be good.   Those who do good because some invisible sky wizard tells them to or he will punish them does not have very high moral standards.
