But his rise didn't happen over night, and our swing to the right, ALSO didn't happen overnight.
Our species unfortunately seems to look for the biggest moron testosterone filled idiot when we feel threatened. It also seems that evolution drives us more to use of force more than it does cooperation.
I see Un as an egotist. I see The Imams who rule Iran, also as egotists. I see Bibi as an egotist. I see Putin as an egotist. And I certainly see Trump as an egotist.
That is not to say all world leaders have been like that.
Trump is the outcome of 36 years of GOP selling cold war bullshit. The Iranian revolution that lead to it's current theocracy. The Russian revolution that lead to Stalin also, started for the same reason. Fuck too much of the population over, they will look for the biggest guy on the block to "fight" for them. It does not matter if that big guy has substance, all it has to do is play to enough emotions, enough mass, then you end up with an asshole opportunist like Castro and end up with Cuba.
Yes, Reagan's polices have failed us. And Trump's bullshit is simply more of the same. It still remains as much as I want him out of office like you, none of this really started with him.
