As for me, I signed on to be part of the gathering, but that's really not like me. I fear that getting along on a messageboard would not translate into real life. But I'd hope there are exceptions.

Yep. I tried to get c in on a meetup or two (maybe three?), but he's shy. I think that came from AF.com, though, years ago. That SoCal trend led me to my (now) ex-boyfriend years ago. From here, I've met GalacticBusDriver, J A C K, and Steel... all at different times and in different parts of the US.
