It shouldn't matter what I prefer. I'm a godless heathen. What should matter to you is what Jesus would have preferred.
America is a piece of shit compared to other, more secular countries. That's not so much a matter of opinion as it is a matter of fact. You not knowing that tells me you're not well-read, or are in denial. If you want to be technical about it, America is not a Christian nation just because the majority of the people call themselves christians. This is not a theocracy, it's a democracy. Religion has done nothing for America aside from securing political power to those with private interests, and cause the rest of the world to hate us, because that's the divisive nature of all religions. Most of the Mexican population are christians, and yet they're not a "superpower". So it must have less to do with religion, and more to do with money, of which the United States is in horrible debt, to many of the countries you listed in your OP.
