Now if we stopped the earth from rotating on its axis, caused it to rotate backwards a couple of times, and then restored the rotation of the earth we all know what would happen: Lois Lane would be saved because we have just travelled backwards in time. Of course there are some doomsday apocalyptic-minded party-pooping scientists who say that actually it would cause the oceans to move over the land masses in a horrible and somewhat deadly storm because they're fluids. However the Earth does rotate, we can't really stop it from doing so,and I'm asking the question how many times in a year does it do this?

Relative to an outside observer, naturally.

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
