Loosing an extra day actually. If the Earth was rotating opposite to its orbit then there would be an extra day (367.242 days per year). The same would be true, of course, for the moon. If it didn't rotate at all relative to the earth, then from earth it would appear to make a complete rotation every 27 days, but in reality it just travelled around the earth facing whatever side was closest to the earth.
