BLM protesters in Saint Louis last week were burning the American Flag on news footage. If those BLM protesters didn't hate the flag then why were they burning it?
I suppose they can always use the flag for toilet paper = http://media.salon.com/2014/11/american_flag_toilet_paper.jpg
Olbermann says everyone should remain seated.

"GQ host Keith Olbermann wants NFL fans to remain seated during the national anthem to protest President Trump.
“This is simple: To defend OUR right to protest we as fans/consumers ALSO must not stand during the National Anthem until Trump’s threat ends,” the former MSNBC host wrote on Twitter Saturday afternoon."

By the end of the series it had been moved to the pre-game festivities and the unholy alliance between sports and corporate patriotism had begun.
The Star Spangled Banner wasn't the national anthem at that time. The racist Woodrow Wilson was pushing for it to become the national anthem by the Congress Critters told him to shove it. He probably got one of his minions to play it at the ball game as a propaganda ploy. The crowd liked it and that gave them the green light to continue playing it as a way to influence the Congress Critters to adopt it. They eventually gave in but it took years for it to happen. By that time it was being blasted on the radio when the games were being broadcasted.
