Unless you're bent on a show-stopper, this is no hurdle at all. Throw a couple of hundred bucks at the county courthouse for the license, and step in front of the JoP ... done deal.
Its only really no hurdle if you are fine with having it at a courthouse.
We didn't have a show stopper by any stretch of the imagination, but we still had to find a venue, send invitations, get food, etc. Oh, and the not so easy task of accommodating people flying in from the UK to attend the wedding. It was stressful, especially since in the middle of planning it I also had to ship all my possessions and move there.
I'm sure my experience counts for nothing though.
