My name is Paul.
In college my nickname was Rod. A tutor randomly thought I should be called Rod because I like 80s songs with lots of guitar and guitar solos. He called me Rod maybe 3 times then my group of friends away from college all started calling me Rod to the point where it became natural to respond to it which is pretty weird. Even the tutor who originally called it me was freaked out by the trend he started.
Among my nightclub friends a group used to call me smirnoff because I told one of them my second name was Smirnoff while I was drunk (Smirnoff is a really famous vodka brand) and they believed me and it was another kind of situation where I had a whole load of people calling me Smirnoff.
So I could be walking around with an old friend who knows me as Paul and if we coincidentally ran into college or nightclub friends they'd wonder why someone is calling me Rod or why I'm responding to someone shouting "Hey Smirnoff" from across the street.
People just use my real name these days.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
