It makes just as much sense to call christians diluted pagans (and ofc they're all deluded, 
). I'm not saying that ether group isn't..only pointing out that they still aren't the same group...and that assigning primacy to christianity in the case of crosses or magic books is arbitrary and factually inaccurate.
