Bush Sr.'s critical blunder was in not finishing the job of the First Gulf War and taking out Saddam. The Americans encouraged the Iraqi people to launch an uprising against Saddam, which they did in 1991, but they sat back and watched as Saddam exterminated them. Bush Jr. didn't shy away from finishing what his dad started and that's why I respect him more than his dad.
Now I can understand why American people oppose the war. They didn't feel it was necessary to sacrifice the lives of thousands of their own troops to liberate a foreign country half way across the world. But from my perspective, the fall of Saddam was a great thing and all credit goes to Bush.
Similarly, I appreciate whoever's decision it was and whoever really pushed for the campaign to bomb Gaddafi and help the rebels capture him. Apparently this was the work of Hillary and though Obama was president, he was weak in foreign policy and it was Hillary who pushed him for it (correct me if I'm wrong).
I'm quite sure that if Hillary was president she would have likewise gotten rid of Assad.
The fall of these 2 fascist dictators (Saddam and Gaddafi) had greatly alarmed the Middle East autocrats.
