Yeah, I'm not going to pretend that gun control is going to be a cure-all, even if you go all the way and make all firearms illegal. That said, it is a fairly easy starting point when trying to fix the problem. There's a shitton of factors that factor into mass murders and I'm not sure anything short of destroying American culture and starting again completely from scratch will totally eliminate it. But gun control is probably the easiest place to start and tackle the problem, and I suspect it may be the only avenue that the law might actually affect.
Heroin's illegal and could be considered a weapon of mass destruction from a distributor's perspective, how's that working out for us? Obviously a lot of differenves in that analogy but hopefully you see what I'm getting at.
I'm not here saying all criminals will just go out and get guns anyway. A lot of them might not. Less access obviously means less access, and only certain people will have the sense to know how to cop guns on the street, but it doesn't take a genius.
I could teach a chess nerd how to get a gun off the street and I'm not all that bright. Most people, especially psychopaths hell bent on destruction, could probably figure it out. I don't think it's a good idea to send all of these monsters to the black market.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.
