So it's not my interpretation, it's exactly what the original hadith in Arabic says, it's just that some translations lose this meaning.

I value the good in humanity, I always will. And of course I would not want to go back to the days before modern medicine or modern communication. But we are the same species that has managed to create so much plastic, there is a giant island of pollution bigger than the state of Texas floating in our oceans.
As smart as our species is, we are a victim of our own success at the same time.
I think your reply is off topic. As I said, it's hard to think of an improvement upon this prophecy without jeopardizing ancient people' ability to understand it.
