Muhammad was talking to people who lived fourteen centuries ago, they had no idea what "governments and corporations" would mean, had Muhammad used these terms. Muhammad's contemporaries know what herding and goats mean, they didn't know much about corporations and embassies. So the expression "barefoot destitute goat herds" merely refers to the geographical area where his prediction is supposed to happen, because, obviously, nobody builds things while barefoot.
It's really stupid to try and interpret the words "barefoot" and "destitute" literally, even more so when thay are attempts of translation from their more expressive equivalents in Arabic.
“How dare people interpret the book using the words that are in the book! Obviously it means something other than what it obviously means, or else it’d be wrong!”
Quote:Calm down, pal. Muhammad said the plague doesn't happen in Medina, and guess what ? It really doesn't happen. The end. Credits to Muhammad, shame on atheists.A Plague has happened in Medina according to a alid definition of the word . Shame on Apologists
Quote:I didn't claim Muhammad had some "modern understanding", he knew no more than any other man in his time, and the content of what's purpotedly revealed to him, which deals mostly with theology and social issues. And the few things - quite a lot actually if we take both the qur'an and the hadiths into account - were free from error, and some of them are quite impressive, such as the ones cited in this thread.None of them are impressive
Quote:And one more thing, there is no "mixing science with religion" involved, Muhammad predicted that certain events won't happen, like the plague entering Medina, this is not really science.Which according to a totally valid definition of the word Plague was wrong
