That's not freedom, just assent, and it appears to have cost you a great deal assuming you began with any valuable or redeeming qualities.
there is a difference between being saved at no cost, and allowing God to move into your life take control of all things and be used as a servant/teacher. God put me through hell, so i have the answers to help those who ask about it. one does not have to follow this path just to be saved. there is no one single bar we all must get over no one standard. each man (as per the parable of the talents) owes god according to how God has invested in him. If god spends a lot of personal time one on one with someone, then a lot is expected back (the one who was given three bags of gold had to double the masters investment to 6 bags to be rewarded. the guy given two invested and gain two more and was equally rewarded.. ect..) the yield or the gross result is not what God judges but rather did you do the best with what he gave you.. which is why for some/very few a death bed confession will work and others a life time of efforts will not. the bottom line is between you and god and that is based on what he gave you to work with.
-and, again, if you're representative of what the cost is, or the sorts of blessings bestowed - this is an incredibly bad sales pitch.
