Creationism isn't science. It's a joke. It is an insult to human intelligence.

Quite. That's my opinion. I think that a part of the idea is a scientific claim and needs to be dissmissed as such.

Check out the link to the AAAS Project 2061 I posted earlier. Among other things available on the site is a teacher resource guide titled Evolution on the Front Line: An Abbreviated Guide for Teaching Evolution. On page 22 they touch briefly on the subject of ID in the classroom. Please note that they don’t even grace the concept of ID with the title of hypothesis. They just call it a “hypothetical claims about the history of the universe and of life.”

One of the conclusions reached during the process of this ongoing 25 plus year old study is that the preexisting misconceptions people hold need to be addressed during the education process. Our kids are going to continue to cling to the idea of ID if we don’t take the time to explain to them why it is not a theory that competes with evolution on the issue of the diversity of species.

Save a life. Adopt a greyhound.

Yeah, the only thing scientific about creation is perhaps the psychology of the people who believe it to be true. It's just as scientific as Rumpelstiltskin or any other made up story.

I think churches should be required to teach the controversy...

Ran across this quote today. I think it relates to the topic quite well.
