The question now is do you want the blue or red pill?
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Self enlightenment begins with your decision to this question. You decide the correct answer, and the rest of your beliefs follow. Have fun, and contemplate

This is possible, and we would never know.
But really? That's the same argument theists use for God. It might be so it must be.
Sorry, that doesn't follow.
While reality isn't much more than a perception (I agree there), you lost my support when you suggested we're in a computer. It's interesting, yes, but I hope that comment was intended to provoke thought rather than actually voice your opinion on whether or not we're in a computer simulation.

Why would we be put in a dream to begin with?
These types of theories are a type of wishful thinking, it isn't very likely. The human mind is so attracted to the unknown and fantasy it sometimes gets scary. We are in a reality at this very moment, these types of speculations just don't work. And if it's true, why are we in a dream and perceiving a reality within the dream?
Secondly, who put us in a so called "dream"? Those that put us in it, who are they are they also actually in a dream? And if we are in a dream is there any point to it if we won't wake up anyway? So many theories that come from movies, please don't apply them to reality.
I honestly think the human mind is bored with reality and that is the reason we make up all these silly things because they're exciting.

Technically reality is just what you percieve it as. Change your perception and you change your reality. However it doesn't change other peoples reality so don't do anything nutty.

I don't mean to be putting words in your mouth OP but it sounds like you are talking about some kind of consciousness "theory" that says our brains could be connected to some computer or something that creates the illusion of the world around us and generates the feelings of things we smell, taste, feel, etc. when we interact with them in this "dream". My argument to that is why then do we die if we take a dagger to the heart if the only thing that truly exists is our brain? I can understand how we could feel the pain of the dagger based on this "theory" but I have trouble rationalizing why we would die if our heart is only an illusion and the only thing that really exists is our brain.

What if C-A-T really spelt "dog?"
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
