Except it leaves out a bevy of state/local taxes and fees plus gasoline taxes and sales taxes which the president has no control over....not that most of the tea-bagging shitheads understand such nuances.

When I post a link and a breif statement I get criticized but I did read the article and learned alot! I've only ever taken one econ class and I hate claiming I know something about the subject but I feel like this article has let me improve my opinions. I don't think it should ignore the fact that though some Americans pay less than 15% in taxes they also make considerably less than Mitt Romney who they were comparing it to.
I also like the fact that the article mentions the fact that raising taxes is not the only way to close the budget deficit. I think an overall tax reform is badly needed, especially when it comes to the automatic tax exempt status given to churches. There are many ways to generate revenue and improve the economy that are overlooked b/c everyone seems obsessed with taxes

Do yourself a favor. Get hold of a book called "Perfectly Legal" by David Cay Johnston. Johnston was the former tax guy for the New York Times. It will infuriate you.
