So the money has "in god we trust" on it! ours has a picture of a monarch who represents an outmoded and parasitic relationship with 'commoners', on it, but I dont dont give up using it just because I am against the monarchy.
Money is a useful tool, an to aid living and I would bet that a lot of people wouldnt even know about the religious frippery that was printed on it.
In Jewish religion, they forbids possessing "idols" made of stone, woods, metals and papers, and forbids worshipped of other gods.
In Christianity, money(dollars included) classified as the "god of mammon".

This is rigodamndiculous. I can hold a Bible and still be an atheist. /story Go find something else to overanalyze, like why you are pretending to be an atheist.

Do Poe's pretend to be atheists? I thought it was the other way around.
At any rate, this does reek of bullshit.

Well to claify what atheism is it is a non-belief in god.
That is all I can carry around money with stupid sayings on and buy my wife a nice cross shaped necklace because it does not mean anything to me.
I may occasionally wear an atheist T-shirt that I got as a pressie, (thanks again Darwinian) and I do visit an atheist forum every now and then but thats as far as I go.
Not believing in a god is actually a very easy stance to take, it frees up a lot of time for other stuff.

You can hold a bible and still an atheist, but hold and use dollar bills you legally(by default) enforced the saying written in it "IN GOD WE TRUST".
"We" exclude all 11 million illegal immigrants having dollar bills in their wallets.
"WE" means ALL American citizens!
"WE" doesn't mean the land, country or government.....but ALL American human beings", "WE" the people of U.S.A. "IN GOD WE TRUST"

Get this through your head. Being an atheist has nothing to do with this ridiculous dilemma you've invented. It has to do with whether you believe in God or not. If you don't, then you're an atheist. Now, having arrived at that point, what is an American atheist supposed to do besides use the only legal tender available to them in that country?
What about if I sing a Christmas carol like 'Once in Royal Davids City'? Or attend a wedding of a friend which is held in a church? Or admire Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel? Does that make me a hypocrite too?
