Oh, hell no. If slavery were economically viable they would have already been lobbying for it.
No, they want to pay people peanuts but have them be responsible for their basic living expenses. In order to do this they need rampant unemployment so people are desperate for whatever jobs there are.

Abolishing the minimum wage would allow employers to hire more people, since the cost of hiring a worker has decreased. Essentially classic supply and demand rules working here.
However if the minimum wage were to be abolished, there should be a guaranteed minimum income so that these workers have enough to live on. This guaranteed minimum income would be achieved by tax credits.
I advocate this position because I believe it is better for people to be working even in very low paid jobs, than not working.

Indeed, and without those low paying jobs our entire civilization would crumble. Not slow, but quick. If the people who are to do these things cannot afford basic living expenses (and they can't) then how are we to get these things done? We depend on our wage slaves for everything, absolutely everything, we ask alot of them and offer nothing in return, fantastic. Not only do we offer nothing in return, we demonize them as lazy, or incapable, or at least less capable than us (if you aren't a wage slave)...horseshit.
