Ron Paul might have the most delegates?
#41
RE: Ron Paul might have the most delegates?
It's a move that is perfectly legitimate, so again, what is the point of making this about the candidate? He's doing something that is perfectly legal and within the rules. He's done nothing technically wrong, so you have only your opinion to base anything you say about him on, and I'm sure there are plenty of people who are of the opinion that Ron Paul doing this is a good thing.

If you want to solve the problem, focus on the problem itself.

Technically legitimate and "honorably" legitimate are two different things. I believe that is the difference in perspective, here.

Yes, he hasn't "technically" done anything wrong. Think we went over that already. I don't see the need for the modifier "technically" as a positive. Yes, T, these are my opinions. We are we talking about about politics right? I'm sure there are such people, are you such a person?

Agreed, we should focus on this problem. That doesn't mean I can't focus on the candidate as well, at least give me that. He's a (potential) candidate running for the highest public office in our nation, I think focusing on him is perfectly justified.

Personally, I would find it hilarious if Ron Paul won in this manner. The Republicans support this bs method of election, and I would like to see them get raped by it. This is actually good news because, people will now be aware of this and want to fix the problem, and because Ron Paul will have no chance of winning against Obama.

There are churches there, believe me, that cut their children too, as the people of Bolvangar did--not in the same way, but just as horribly. They cut their sexual organs, yes, both boys and girls; they cut them with knives so that they shan't feel. That is what the Church does, and every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling. So if a war comes, and the Church is on one side of it, we must be on the other, no matter what strange allies we find ourselves bound to."

Of course you can focus on the candidate; I just don't see what good it does in the long run. Anyone can do this; the focus should be on the system and why it should be changed. We'll have to agree to disagree since this discussion is just going round in circles now.

Oh, I don't know, maybe it helps me to decide whether or not he would be a suitable president?

The point is that the long-run isn't the only important thing; the short-term has a huge impact as well. You don't think that the presidency has any impact in the long-run, as well?

So it will be a choice between Obama and Paul, a right winger and an extreme right winger.

Is it possible that I could have a chance of actually voting for a left winger in this country?

What left winger do I have as a voting option in this country?

--as far as Paul even coming CLOSe to winning against Obama - Im not worried one single bit. He will not get it. He is so batshit nutty and extreme in his views that most Republicans (even after Paul packing the delegates) will not gather in enough numbers to elect the necessary number of electoral college members to vote for the pushed candidacy of Paul. so the only way this can really work is if ALL of the Republican candidates for the electoral college are secret Paul supporters as well, and even that will not help him if he cant get enough of them elected.

Well Obama may very well lose the nomination (if that ever happens), but the Democratic primaries have nothing to do with the Republican primaries. You're not going to get a left winger out of the Republican party, so your point is completely meaningless. If we want a better president, we'll have to go though the Democratic party. There is nothing to lose from a Republican nominee who can't win, so I'm not sure what your trying to say here...
