Quote:There are many sites with evidence. Of A flood, indeed, but NO credible evidence of global flood. Quote: We find layers of sediment in places they shouldn't be. Proof? Quote: Many well-established groups of animals such as dinosaurs and trilobites suddenly disappear from the fossil record. There is no such thing as 'the fossil record' in the sense of any claim of completeness. New fossils are being found all the time. I really don't know why I bothered. It REALLY does take a certain type of ignoramus to argue the literal truth of any part of the Book Of Genesis.

So he was a perfect man, being born without sin, and having lived a sinless life. Is that so? By what dictionary? The one I found simply states man is "an adult male human." well disreguarding your dictionary skills you may be referring to how humans are structurally imperfect and behaviorally imperfect. The fact is yes, Jesus had just as much as an imperfect body as everyone else when he was here on earth. But the point is he was perfect in his actions. He commited absolutely no sin. If you are trying to say that human choices are already defined and there are no choices we can make beyond it I think you need to think about that for a bit. Even if the dictionary supported what you said it does not dictate what we do or not do.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust." And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! -4th verse of the american national anthem Quote:Is that so? By what dictionary? Oh,sorry for being unclear. I was referring to the common Christian position that all men are inherently sinful. IE imperfect. To claim that Jesus was perfect is special pleading and sophistry. Quote:But the point is he was perfect in his actions. He commited absolutely no sin Proof? You have only faith on which to base that claim. Your 'knowledge' is based only on what on what is claimed in the NT,a religious text with no credible supporting evidence. Plus even the NT is silent about the life of Jesus between the age of about 12 and 30. There is no credible evidence to support any of your claims. When you make a positive claim, you attract the burden of proof.Either provide some or stop wasting my time. (February 17, 2012 at 9:36 pm)padraic Wrote:Quote:Is that so? By what dictionary? Yes it is based on faith just like its based on faith to believe there is no god. You cannot prove a negative and I'm not going to be suckered into doing so. I'm not trying to prove his sinless nature, I'm simply saying calling him perfect is not a contradiction.

Just to be clear here, ocean fossils appear on mountains because mountains rose up from the Earth. They weren't just kind of plopped there. Just because you do not know why something happens, does not mean you should just make up stories or believe other made up stories.

Shit, Shel....don't you know that "Satan" caused plate tectonics to test their faith? He also planted fossils up there because Satan always seems to be one step ahead of their rather dull 'god.' Haha, even if you were to take that on faith, it would fall apart. Humans were supposedly here before Satan fell from heaven, right? Well, how the fuck did he move all that shit around without anyone noticing? He's not exactly Voldemort.
That reminds of the Silbury Hill story. Satan dropped a fuck ton of dirt and rocks in England just to bury a king or something. I had no idea angels, fallen or otherwise, could carry that sort of weight. Next time I want to move, I'm calling Satan.
Xtians give him the power to outsmart their rather inept vision of god at almost every turn.
I'm afraid you would have to ask one of our resident morons to explain it to you. Should be good for a laugh. |
