A Sad Joke
February 23, 2012 at 5:28 pm
Son: Dad, you always tell me funny jokes. Can you tell me a very sad joke this time?
Father: Sure. But it’s a really sad one.
Son: I bet you I won’t cry. Tell me!
Father: Alright, here it goes. The sad joke is: There is no sad joke.
Son: Ohhh man. That's sad.
Father: I’m sorry, son. Don’t be sad. You only asked for it.

Yeah, I know several ... but meh, I find most of his jokes a bit lame for some reason.
One of them is the following:
A man asks Nasrudin, "What is your age?"
He replies, "Forty."
Then, the man says, "But you gave me the same answer when I asked you two years ago."
He replies, "Yes, and that is because I always stand by what I have said."

Valuable lesson there for creationists everywhere.

No, I'm just a brainwashed Muslim.
Well, seriously, even though I don't usually refer to myself as anything more specific than simply a "Muslim," I think that my understanding of Islam is more in agreement with the views of the Hanafi school of thought. Therefore, if someone asks me to further specify my position as a Muslim, then I would tell them that I'm a "Hanafi Muslim" (Sunni). However, I do believe in most of the fundamental aspects behind Sufism as taught by Sufi teachers and those are the ones which have been incorporated into my religious beliefs. Sufism also expands into other areas (in addition to Islam) such as philosophy, metaphysics, art, science, culture, and psychology, for example. You can learn more about Sufism at the link below:

Possibly because they are nearly 1000 years old are said to contain a profound message if you look.
For some* sufis there is a close connection to Zen.
*Sufi Ch'ist? Sufi suf'ist..

Nasrudin is walking around his tent sprinkling red sand.
Friend:"Nasrudin,what are you doing?"
Nasrudin "This is tiger repellent,to keep the tigers away"
Friend "but, but, there are no tigers in Arabia"
Nasrudin "Yeah, pretty good stuff hey?"
