Today is Google change day

RE: Today is Google change day
They did have your express permission. You gave it when you first signed up for a Google account.

The fact is, they are collecting no more data than they were yesterday. If you are suddenly concerned about your privacy because of this new privacy policy, it's only because you never (truly) cared about it before.

What an idiotic thing to say.

You have no way of knowing about what I 'really' care, now or at any time.

PLUS strawman fallacy. I'm allowed to change my mind at any time .Angry

That is beside the point. You said they didn't have your express permission...they did. It isn't Google's fault if you fail to read their ToS, or fail to explore your account once in a while to see what (if anything) they are storing about you. I disabled Web History when it first came out, but I'd known they were tracking every search I made (as most search engines do, btw) from day 1.

I hold that if you'd actually given a crap about your privacy before this new policy was announced, you would have left Google years ago. Like I said before, they are not collecting any extra data about you; they have been openly collecting the same data for years. This isn't some big revelation about what they know about you...

So my point still stands. Perhaps you really do care about your privacy; you still didn't care enough about it before to bother checking what you'd signed up for. That is your problem.

Also, I don't believe I said you couldn't change your mind. I just find your reasoning for suddenly leaving Google a bit absurd.

It's always in the fine print. They have lawyers, too.

It's like that joke about xtians and the bible. They don't read it, they just scroll down and click "I agree."
