Okay you start with a hypothesis. You then begin to gather the evidence. Fossil records show a gradual process where by species change over time. You also have modern species with the same ancestry as those fossils which have millions of varying traits and species and we see the ones that suit their environment live to reproduce and passing the positive traits on. So we can see how it has worked up till now.

With the observations and evidence scientists are able to say that it is a theory because it is supported by overwhelming evidence.

Meanwhile ID you say "Look.. Stuff is here therefore god did it!"

If stuff wasn't here we wouldn't be around to have the fucking conversation!

There is no evidence for ID so its a Hypothesis aka an idea. And as with all ideas unless you give a good reason why your idea is right you should be ignored.

You have completely disregard me saying how gradual these changes are. Things don't just sprout an organ. some cells reproduce once every 20 mins. That means every 20 mins they double in number. Each time they change slightly. Now imagine leaving these cells for over the lifespan of the earth. Is it really that hard to believe that they wont become more complex. They inadvertently test every possibility as they go through this process.

I find the idea that god did it pathetic in comparison to this process.
