I am not upset.
I am just disappointed in the fact that present generations in power are exercising it so poorly and not thinking of the number one moral principle of humans. The Harm/care principle as it applies to our children and future generations.

That is the main principle that crosses all cultures and we are ignoring it for our own self-centered wants.

Exactly WHOSE moral and family absolutes are we discussing here?

Both factors are tied to the zeitgeist, and every generation in history has complained about the same thing.

One thing I do agree with is that it is somewhat disturbing seeing parents happy to see their kids in clothing designed to accentuate sexual features at a presexual age.

Not as common as the tabloids would have you believe, and personally as a parent, I know its impossible in the current world to prevent the media from publicising the same celebrity role models they claim to abhor.

Media is too ubiquitous for a parent to adequately compensate for, regardless of how good a rolemodel you are at home.

Media is both friend and foe.
If parents leave it on as their baby sitter then they should not complain.
It is quite addictive though.

Mind you GIA the media is hell bent on desensitising humanity to the horrors of just what humans can do and do do to each other. perhaps as you say this is also a benefit??
