Atheist Billboard

To me the billboard appears intentionally inflammatory. From the perspective of the average viewer, it shows the words slavery, masters, a bible quote and what appears to be a shackled African man. The ability to interpret what this really means in regards to atheism is simply beyond the grasp of many, who will only view it as racist.

The discussion seems to degenerate into a question of racism and the intended message is lost in the noise. It seems to me that the message of atheism and secularism becomes unfocused with this kind of approach.

I don't see whats wrong with the message, and doing it in a way that grabs people's attention.

Its true that the Bible openly supports slavery therefore anyone who calls the Bible the highest moral authority or the Word of God like Christians do is by definition a supporter of slavery although of course they don't see it like that Angel

I think they forgot a basic principle;it is not possible to underestimate the stupidity of the general public.

The image isn't tactful, but I think people are using that as an excuse to ignore the point of the message.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Quite frankly I am thinking that hominids are in desperate need of a reality check

The news people said about the bible "How can a book that seems to propmote slavery..."

Seems?! It flat out DOES promote slavery.
"A group of women prayed that it would come down, and it did"

Yeah... Jesus did it.
Notice not a single mention of the bible verse that demands slaves obey their masters.... this just turns out to make atheists look like racists, and the mainstream media is pumping that out
