Robbing people blind.. for Jesus, of course.
Quote:Among purchases, the network founded by Televangelists Paul and Jan Crouch, is accused of misappropriating its 'charitable assets' toward a $50 million jet, 13 mansions and a $100,000-mobile home for Mrs Crouch's dogs.

Their granddaughter, Brittany Koper, 26, recently filed her allegations in court after a brief appointment as the network's chief finance director in July.

This is some pretty disgusting shit. I hope they can't weasel their way out of this! All that tax free money could be going to do some good in this world, and instead, it's been going to buy that pink-haired old lady's dogs a freaking house!!

I'm not surprised, but that doesn't negate my need to feel appalled at the same time.

Look at the larger picture. You seem to be focused on the actions of 2 people but you should be looking at the intentions of the thousands if not millions of people that gave of their hearts to a pool these resources to begin with. Yes those two should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law. However the story should be of the giving spirit that people have even during a depression.

The story is that a lot of xtians are ignorant assholes who are constantly taken in by con men.

You can't think that their gullibility is only related to bible bullshit, can you?

No, the story was that they were being conned out of their money by tricksters.
Why would the generosity of gullible people be the message and not that evil shits took advantage.

Do you honestly think that Christian charities are the only charitable organizations that has had problems with their stewards? Do you think that only Christians give to charities who do not do what they promise to do?

It wouldn't be such an issue if christians didn't keep claiming that they lived on some higher moral plane than the rest of us.

And lets look at the good deeds these people were donating for.

Quote:The Crouches founded TBN in 1973 and grew it into an international Christian empire that beams prosperity gospel programming — which promises that if the faithful sacrifice for their belief, God will reward them with material wealth

So just a straight forward con then.
No feeding the starving or curing the sick, just 'give us some money and god will give you more'

While this thread is focused on the actions of the 2 con-people for jesus, I assure you that I am very aware of the thousands of people who screw people out of their money in the name of a fictional character (jesus, yahweh, etc).

This is just one example of many examples of how poisonous and dangerous religion can be, and how effectively it is used to get free money from the poor suckers who are gullible enough to believe in it.
