Wikipedia says the Great White Shark has been around for 16 million years. Funny enough, I heard that it was old on Blade Trinity! xD

I believe that the quote comes originally from Moore, Lalicker, and Fisher's "Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology". That's where I first read about it.
