I take it as my authority. I will help you see what i see. But what you want to thwart is the control or at least the ones that you can thwart. I guess control is ok if its reasonable. (Im not attacking reason and rationality, im attacking the fact that you will truly never be free even when you think you are).

Forget all that thwarting and control nonsense, that's all red herring. I understand you take the bible as an authority, I'm asking why you do, and by extension why I should be expected to.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I take the bible as a story. I accept the views expressed by Jesus. Which reasons expressed by Jesus would you like me to share? Or why do i accept Jesus' views over some other religious views? I didn't say you should be expected to, i will share, it has probably all already been shared but i can help you see what i see. Why do you think you should follow something you don't want to follow?

I'm just trying to illustrate that the whole thing is, as you say, a story, and the only way we can know anything at all about Jesus, God and all the rest of it is from that story. You don't worship a god, you worship a book; and a startlingly poorly-written one at that. In other words, you could just as easily get your guidance or whatever from Star Wars - it does at least have the benefit of a coherent plot and engaging characters. So why do you identify as a xtian instead of a Yodarian?

What is the purpose of both stories? To tell of a truth and to tell something that happened a long time ago but somehow in the future. I'm not a big stars war fan so i don't know what principles i should accept. The bible story gives principles that i understand and can accept but it also offers the gift of grace, forgiveness. I have no other need for any other thing. After accepting reality and reading said story, i have come to the conclusion that this forgiveness is all i need. Life will continue and i will live with the principles proposed by Jesus and accept said forgiveness with the proof of my actions according to said principles.

I REALLY don't give a flying flunngle about your personal superstitions. If you insist on sharing them ,I may say some very unkind and downright coarse things.
Judging by your patronising attitude, I suspect Min might get in first.

So, what are the non-ridiculous basics that you think require no proof?

Bbut it would be nice to give us some idea so that we could have a healthy and productive discussion.

The Koran? Encyclopedia Britannica?
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

Say them, why would it bother me? It seems your coarse language and capricious spurts of reasonable doubts would not affect me in any way. I care and consider what you say but if you say "fuck you", reasonably i do not have an idea of what you intentionally and realistically want me to do. I'm just saying.

Encyclopedia, lol. I get Jesus from the Bible. If there was not captured story then i wouldn't believe. Are you saying we should compare all religions and understand the differences?
