PSP and video files

How do I get my Son's psp to play avi files. On the PS3 all I need to do is stick a memory stick into the usb port with the avi file on it and hay presto.

However, I've tried this with his psp and all it says is that there are no videos to play..

Any ideas?

Avi support is not standard for the PSP.

Thanks for that.. I'll take a look. At the moment I am using 3GP to convert an avi to mp4 for the psp.
