Quote:I'm not defending Scotland. I'm neutral on the issue, actually, even though I know that England has not been the greatest friend of the Turk for some time, I'd rather not pick a side.

Maybe because your country's crumbling empire got into bed with Kaiser Wilhelm and helped create WW1 in doing so?

Oh, Turkey continued relations with Germany until 1944 (thats 5 years too long, Mehmet)

Just a thought.

And that gave Britain the right to completely wipe us off the face of history.
Right. No matter, we already fought and won our fight for independence.

If the likes of him could see this, his "race" would probably be more highly regarded and their country would probably be wealthier and more influential then it is.

I am sure they didn't do it intentionally. Your part in history is so small they just lost track of it.

I don't understand. Please rephrase your post.

Lloyd George did, actually.
He wanted us to go back to Asia, after holding these lands for over a thousand years in our grasp, he was a foolish old man to believe that his lackeys could force us out-but didn't have the courage to invade us personally after we forced his lackeys out.

I'm pretending not to see the other thing you wrote down, as you're clearly more ignorant than you sound.

Besides, there is nothing to be held accountable for. We participated in WWI, we lost.
There isn't much to be said about it, really. But I think the WWI was an even greater victory for our own ideals. It allowed us to create a nation state. What more could we want out of it?

If your countrymen could have made a habit of evaluating their own strengths, weakness and role in the world more detachedly and objectively than you can, your country probably would never have ended up a shrunk rump of hillocks being excreted out of the balkan end of Europe.

1. You weren't in anatolia for over a thousand year.

2. You picked the wrong side for a second hand battlecruiser, so your continued existence was in someone else's hands. Be grateful they had juicier fishes to fry.

All empires are destined to fall. There was not much to evaluate. At the end of the day, nations who were under our rule wanted their independence and won. I am not mad at them, in fact, I thank them. This allowed us to create an ethnically stable nation with only a few Unruhestifter.

Oh, we were. Balbals who are over a thousand years old are discovered on Turkish soil. Our presence in Anatolia did not start with the Seljuks.

I only express gratitude to our country's founder, the great nationalist, Başbuğ Atatürk.
