There are very few people in this world who really like living in enclosed spaces for months at a time.

They usually end up on nuclear submarines where every other soldier would go nuts in a month.

The house we've just built is 168 square meters, (1808sqft) and just enough.

168 sq ft (16 sqmt) isn't a house, it's a packing crate with windows.

Indeed, twice as big. Standard containers have foot print of 40'X8', giving floor area of 320 square feet.

There is actually a thriving industry in making residences out of several new or retired shipping containers. Shipping containers are designed to be stacked and structurally very strong. They make ideal earthquake, fire and tornado proof residences.

What I mean, I would live in an adequately large house if I could afford it.
Not too large, as too large and empty spaces are scary, but too small and loaded spaces are suffocating.
