Case in point and nominally relevant:

Brian Haw was a peace campaigner who set up camp in Parliament Square, opposite the main entrance to the Palace of Westminster, our Houses of Parliament, in the months pre-9/11 2001 to protest the UK and US foreign policies. He remained encamped there for the next ten years until his death last June, a loud and painful thorn in the side of the Government each day throughout.

In 2005, special legislation was enacted in Parliament and, among other things, was intended to get rid of Mr Haw's embarrassing (to Ministers) reminder of their own actions by making it illegal to demonstrate within a mile surrounding the Palace of Westminster. Unfortunately for them, the new law was ruled illegal in the case against Mr Haw, as he was already set up when it was enacted. In practical terms, this meant that Brian Haw, the one man the Government wanted to remove, became the only man in the world legally allowed to protest outside Parliament.

Lots of posturing and grandstanding but fact of the matter is China wouldn't even be a global power without the US and Russia is a corrupt cesspit whose only exports are second-hand corner-cut second-rate machines of war and natural gas whose profits largely go towards those in the higher echelons of office rather than circulating into the economy. Yet have your brother tell you all his war stories someday when he makes it home. I bet they aren't all heroic and done in the best interest of national security. Soldiers are usually the first ones to denounce our foriegn policy because they see first-hand what a sham it all really is. Remember what a waste of time the war in Vietnam was and how the veterans got screwed? Afghanistan has already been going on a year longer than Vietnam. Just saying...

There are thousands, perhaps millions of 911 Truthers who believe, such as I , that the government HAS slaughtered their citizens. I don't see 911 truthers revolting in the streets because of it, because they know that as soon as they do, they get arrested or shot.
