How to combat fear and uncertainty?

Used to be christian - agnostic now
Always thought things would be ok cuz god would take care
Now I'm not sure what I believe and am scared because of some serious issues in my life.
And I don't know if I can trust god, and I can only do so much myself.
How do y'all keep it together? Aren't u scared? I'm stressing bad now.
I'm worried because I got criminal charges from a mental breakdown I had (threats)
And have been applying for jobs like crazy and finally got a offer, now worried they will reject me because they running backgroung check.
Seems like god always keeps me hopeful to the end, then pulls the rug out under me.

Afraid of what exactly? I just live my day to day life the best that I can. What kind of "serious issues" are in your life? Whatever they are... there is no god that can help. Believing in god might help you cope mentally, but that's only a placebo.

I echo Paul's question: "Afraid of what?"
But you asked, "Aren't U scared?" Scared of what?
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Getting a job is difficult for everyone... especially this last few years. You do what you have to do to get by (short of theft and drug dealing and the like, of course). Gods have nothing to do with it. Every day that knocks you down is a day to put behind you. Try again tomorrow. That's all anyone can do in life. Persevere.

Do not fret so much, that will never help you. I know it's a tough idea to live by, but you have to be calm and tackle a problem when it hits you, you can't live in the "what if". And when the problems arrive, take care of them one by one. Living with stress and anxiety is never easy, I should know, since that's what forced me into therapy last year. But honestly, by taking a deep breath, assessing your situation and plan what to do and actually execute it, is the way I cope with hard situations. And remember, you're never alone. There is always someone willing to talk to you, someone who's experienced something similar to you that can help you out. Good luck!
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
