Nope, that's the meaning of freedom, man. You define yourself through your choice and when you understand you're completely in charge of your life, you're able to act more accordingly. You're able to proper shoulder the responsibilities of life. You don't have any magic fairy to watch your back, but you also don't have one to steal the credit.

This might shock you, but I don't believe in fairy tales.

I feel a lot better going out and being my own person than being a slave to a 2,000 year old book. I don't need any kind of god to stand on my own two feet, take air into my lung, and set my will to achieve what I can. And if I can't do it myself, I will not lie down and call it "wisdom". I will do my best to inspire those who can make the change.

I will never be so passive as to bow my head to a shadow and cast my hopes to the wind. I will never be so complacent in my life as to pray for something instead of working towards it. I will never abandon the strength that has always carried my through my life and will continue to.

Isn't the humanism though? Atheism includes Buddhism and they follow a strict path.

Atheism is not a philosophy of any sort. It is simply a stance on the belief in the existence of gods. Individual philosophies differ greatly, regardless of belief system (or lack thereof).
