International Standard Version (©2008)
But I say to you, anyone who is angry with his brother without a cause will be subject to punishment. And whoever says to his brother 'Raka!' will be subject to the Council. And whoever says 'You fool!' will be subject to hell fire.

But I am saying to you, that everyone who will be angry against his brother without cause is condemned before the judge, and everyone who will say to his brother, 'I spit on you', is condemned before the assembly, and whoever will say 'You fool.' is condemned to the Gehenna of fire.

GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
But I can guarantee that whoever is angry with another believer will answer for it in court. Whoever calls another believer an insulting name will answer for it in the highest court. Whoever calls another believer a fool will answer for it in hellfire.

King James 2000 Bible (©2003)

Apparently many people who have translated this gibberish think you are full of shit, too.

Alter, I don't have the time to properly research your questions, so for the sake of what I want to ask I'll concede that they you are correct, at this point. With that being the case; are you saying that there is no hell, except for the separation from God kind? If I could bring Godschild in on this; GC, would you agree with that?

Its funny how this all knowing "god" thing thought it was a good idea to use a book to clearly convey his message then writes in metafores. Last I checked using open ended figuretive writing and colorfull symbolic garble is not an effective way to communicate anything! If god is real, he is an EPIC FAILURE.
Did I make a good point? thumbs up Smile I cant help it I'm a Kudos whore. P.S. Jesus is a MYTH.

Don't worry either, the eternal void of oblivion will correct the error of your existence. Same for everyone.

Doesn't matter what you fucking believe or don't believe, everyone with embrace the void of nothingness regardless. Big Grin

The Jewish version of hell that they would "surely die" is the same as the Egyptian where if your soul was not in balance with the weights, your soul would be devoured and destroyed.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

What a terrible thing to say. If Jesus is just half the man the Bible promotes him as then he would be deeply saddened that you would resort to using such a snide little backhanded threat like this.

For shame! One might have expected better from someone who purports to follow in the footsteps of such a character.

Though it was a joke, because he does not believe in hell. However it is the truth according to scriptures. Jesus talked about hell many times and said if people do not repent they will go to hell. I guess now you all will get me for preaching again. I've been here for over two years and used that before without warning. Believe this if I decided to preach you would have no problem knowing it. If you're tired of me being here just say so, I'll leave no problem, but don't do it with cheap shots.

Why me?
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Only because you're the one other Christian, that I noticed, who commented in the thread. I would really need both of you to respond, in order for me to gain any insight, though.

GC, it's not being done with cheap shots. If you said it before, staff missed it. Believe me, if we had seen it, you would have been warned earlier. We're not trying to drive you out. The idea is ridiculous. You were warned for something that is clearly stated in the rules.

RE: Is Hellfire A Bible Teaching?
Pretty sure Paul invented eternal damnation; it is NOT part of Jewish tradition. The Jewish hell is like Christian purgatory:EVERYONE eventually gets out.

Gehena is NOT hell and never has been, except to desperately bloody minded Christian apologists.

Quote:Judaism does not have a specific doctrine about the afterlife, but it does have a mystical/Orthodox tradition of describing Gehenna. Gehenna is not Hell, but originally a grave and in later times a sort of Purgatory where one is judged based on one's life's deeds, or rather, where one becomes fully aware of one's own shortcomings and negative actions during one's life. The Kabbalah explains it as a "waiting room" (commonly translated as an "entry way") for all souls (not just the wicked). The overwhelming majority of rabbinic thought maintains that people are not in Gehenna forever; the longest that one can be there is said to be 12 months, however there has been the occasional noted exception. Some consider it a spiritual forge where the soul is purified for its eventual ascent to Olam Habah (heb. עולם הבא; lit. "The world to come", often viewed as analogous to Heaven). This is also mentioned in the Kabbalah, where the soul is described as breaking, like the flame of a candle lighting another: the part of the soul that ascends being pure and the "unfinished" piece being reborn.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell#Judaism
