Ok, you are saying the information (or thoughts) are encoded on the electrical impulses. How so? Where did the encoding come from? The electrical impulses in our brain (and in the rest of the body) are no different in quality from the electricity running through power lines or what we get from batteries. Well, strictly speaking, the brain's impulses are a combination of electrical and chemical. These impulses stimulate certain parts of our brains. To be honest, I'm not sure if even the top neuroscience experts know exactly how this process works.

If you wire electricity into a tv or a radio it ceases to be simply raw electricity and gets used doesn't it? Now try applying that to a machine infinitely more complex and organic like our brains.

Pretty much exactly what I was asking for and oddly enough, it agrees with me in saying that top neuroscientists aren't sure of the process so how can you (not a neuroscientist) make the claim that our thoughts are about something when even they can't make that claim? Are you going to end this merry-go-round and retract your claim now or at least admit that it has no scientific backing and is a faith based (not religious) claim?

Still doesn't answer how thoughts are about something and that is what was asked. No communication error involved.

What!? Oh for the love of- look, how do you think computers work? Same principle. The electrical impulses sent through our brains are like the information sent from and recieved by the CPU. The information by itself is meaningless without the CPU to decipher and utilize it.

That article brings up another interesting question. It is the brain that makes the decisions and not us. At least current research shows the brain making choices before we do by at least 200 milliseconds.

That would be an entirely different topic though.
