To answer the question in the heading; no.
Nor should women rule over men.

Those women who want to be equal with men, should be equal with men to an extent (I am against women serving on-board submarines with men and should have their own command, but that is the only issue I have).
Those who want to be housewives, should be allowed to do so as well. Men who want to be househusbands likewise should be given the right, which is why I am supportive of the Western European governments.
I despise the Democratic women who trash other women just because they want to stick with traditional values.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I think you have misrepresented scripture in such a way as to rally the troops against God and His commands.
Follow the commands of God to the best of his ability
follow the commands of God to the best of her abilities.
Free from what? your perception of God? Funny how you did not incorporate any scriptures here.
Are you inferring this is a bible verse of some kind or a general principle from God? Book Chapter and verse please.
Just common sense and tradition.

So this whole thing is your personal perception of Christian values towards women? Based on what? Movies and TV?
We are to love and respect our women as Christ Loved and respected the Church. That mean if it comes down to it was are to be beaten and crucified for them Literally. How does a man willing subject himself to one of the worst forms of death, for another and not love and respect that person?
Yet common sense, and your understanding of tradition trumps the actual guide lines of Christianity so you can make an argument against God.

There are fuckloads from the Bible and a few Quran that say women should serve men, or are inferior.
1 Tim 2:12-14 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man
Quran, 2:228 : And they (women) have rights similar to those (of men) over them in kindness, and men are a degree above them

Men have many attributes that women are unable to match; Women have many attributes that men are unable to match. Equal pay for equal work, neither one above the other, working TOGETHER for a common goal. This I feel is what it is all about.
BOTH can survive quite well sans the other...but together? Awesomeness!!
