God is almost omnipotent. He has many limits.

RE: God is almost omnipotent. He has many limits.
I'm getting a really strong feeling that many theists in this thread don't understand the meaning of the word "omnipotent."

Quote:Again you will only find this translation is support of the catholic based doctrine.

These are from online dictionaries with no discernible interest in "catholic-based doctrine."

Or, is everyone you disagree with a "catholic?"

Yes we do, it's the atheist who can not recognize omniscience.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Please, define it for us poor, simple atheists.

Thou shalt not kill

Here we have it killing 70 people: But God struck down some of the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh, putting seventy of them to death because they looked into the ark of the Lord. The people mourned because of the heavy blow the Lord had dealt them.

And here, because someone dared to steady a load: 6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. 7 The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God.

There's quite nothing like slaughter: 5 Then I heard the Lord say to the other men, “Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! 6 Kill them all—old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin right here at the Temple.” So they began by killing the seventy leaders.
7 “Defile the Temple!” the Lord commanded. “Fill its courtyards with corpses. Go!” So they went and began killing throughout the city.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Oh, I know the proper definition, Min has posted it earlier in the thread, but apparently we have different editions. Please give a concise definition of what you think omniscience means.

Seems pretty clear....and your silly ass god lacks it, in spite of your claims.

God's law was given to man, not to God himself. God never implies that the law for man applied to mans creator.

So do as I say, not as I do. What a hypocrite Tongue
