Whats your favorate film?

I don't think I have a single favorite movie. I saw "L.A. Story" starring Steve Martin recently which I thought was absolutely hilarious. I'm also a huge fan of Harold Lloyd's silent films, two of my favorites being "Hot Water" and "Girl Shy."

Anything with the Marx Brothers.

I can't think of any serious films that I might consider a favorite except for a few european biopics about different people. I'm much more into comedy right now.

For me, it's a toss-up between A Clockwork Orange (because Kubrick is to cinema what Shakespeare is to theatre, nay, literature) and Taxi Driver (because I find myself identifying with Travis a lot.)

Funny, I feel exactly the same way about Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men...

Oh wow, No Country For Old Men was almost hypnotic. The way the plot flowed in such a poignant way was pure genius. You expect a grand climax but instead it leaves you with a bitter fact, that some business simply doesn't get finished in our lifetimes.

Quatermass (also known as The Quatermass Conclusion or Quatermass IV) is a British television science fiction serial produced by Euston Films for Thames Television and broadcast on the ITV network in October and November 1979. Like its three predecessors, Quatermass was written by Nigel Kneale. It is the fourth and final television serial to feature the character of Professor Bernard Quatermass

Influenced by the social and geopolitical situation of the early nineteen-seventies and the hippie youth movement of the late nineteen-sixties, Quatermass is set in a near future in which large numbers of young people are joining a cult, the “Planet People”, and gathering at prehistoric sites, believing they will be transported to a better life on another planet. The series begins with Professor Quatermass arriving in London to look for his granddaugher, Hettie Carlson, and witnessing the destruction of two spacecraft and the disappearance of a group of Planet People at a stone circle by an unknown force. I can't remember it that well, but there's a scene where Batou and Togusa get trapped in some sort of loop when they go to investigate some... guy. I liked the movies more than the series, I think.

I've enjoyed some 'foreign' films late at night too, but I can't recall the names of any. There was one in particular about a gay relationship in Nazi occupied France which was excellent despite (or perhaps because of) being incredibly depressing and cruel. I stayed up til 2 or 3am to finish it and had work at 5am for a 12 hour shift...
