I think we can officially say that logic and science favor God now considering the Goldilocks properties of the universe pointing to a universe which was purposely designed. Lets see, how does the fact that the universe is all Goldylocksy support a belief in magic genies? Which would be more surprising to you? That a universe with all the ideal settings for order and life should settle out on its own without a creator -or- that some magic genies should should settle out on their own without a creator and then pull everything we can actually detect out of their ass? So long as something has to come from nothing why not just accept that what we can detect got here through natural means? Do genies pulling something out of nothing really help your sense of plausibility along all that much? I'm not feeling it. Why do you lot have such a hard fucking time understanding that?

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity. Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist. You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them. There is no other possible explanation as to why this message, what is at most a minute and a half of text, was stretched to an excrutiating aesthetically deficient four minutes and fifty-two seconds of video. Goldilocks properties? Are you seriously using a fairy tale to support your claim? Athiests don't claim that something came from nothing nor do we seriously consider the 'fine tuning' argument (this is what you meant by Goldilocks right?). You can claim a departure from any known physical law, but it doesn't matter. Our physical laws are what they are, that's it. So what if shit wouldn't work if the laws that we have were an iota different? This proves nothing more than an active imagination that can consider a 'what if' reality that doesn't exist. The problem for you is that the physical laws of nature are what they are, they exist....nothing more, nothing less. Speculating as to what would happen if they were different may be fun, but ultimately says nothing about the existence of any god; let alone yours. You still offer no proof of your god's existence. Even if you could prove god, you would still have the problem of getting from that entity to the idea that the creator of the universe authored your stupid book. If I had the ability to create a universe, I would be insulted by my portrayal in the bible.

There can be no demonstrative argument to prove that those instances in which we have no experience, resemble those of which we have had experience. — David Hume Victor Stenger Wrote:In his 1995 book, The Creator and the Cosmos, physicist Hugh Ross listed thirty-three characteristics a planet must have to support life. He also estimated the probability that such a combination be found in the universe as "much less than one in a million trillion." He concluded that only "divine design" could account for human life.— Victor Stenger, God: The Failed Hypothesis I can't find the relevant quote, but he remarks how Theists who push the fine-tuning argument often push mutually conflicting arguments. The universe is fine tuned for life, but if that were really true, why are so many environments completely hostile to life. If the universe were truly fine tuned for life, it would be under every rock, crevice and mound. And why is so much of the universe, ostensibly, absent intelligent life. If God is an engineer, he's a terribly wasteful one, creating a universe this size, only to fill one planet with life. Like, God, wtf? I want to see actual scientific evidences defending atheism and the idea of nothing creating something (something which has been scientifically tested with no results...) Urgh.. Learn the difference between law, theory and hypothesis. Then we can talk. When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
