Brian, the all caps stuff is one reason you seem rather over-anxious. The fact that you seem to be on a crusade in most threads might be another.

"Over-anxious"; what a fraqrant euphemism for "a bit of a dick" (June 26, 2012 at 9:48 pm)Epimethean Wrote: Brian, the all caps stuff is one reason you seem rather over-anxious. The fact that you seem to be on a crusade in most threads might be another. I do type CERTAIN words in caps to bring FOCUS to that word. I think you'd have more of a case if I were typing the entire post in caps, which I don't do. And what is wrong with being passionate? Your personality is yours and I am also a different person. So? The world would be a boring place if we all were clones of each other. I spent too much of my young years caring too much about what others thought of me and too many years of insecurity and "don't pick on me". I have gotten to the point in my life where much more I say "people are going to like you or not like you". So just do your thing and even if it is complaining about me, that is life, we are not always going to like what others say or do. RE: A person on another forum was mean to me!

Oh, but of course! Thank you for supporting the cause.
Postscript: Using caps the way you do is distracting rather than focusing. Others have been pointing this out to you, but then, you feel the need to make it all about you. Fair enough, but don't start another crusade when everyone becomes so tired of your own personal dogma that they don't bother to respond any longer. You have things to offer, but your tendency to bash people with your own dogmatic club drives people away. If you take pride in that, enjoy the results.

Not liking my personality hardly constitutes a "crusade". And nothing I do here is "dogmatic". That is what China's communism is and Iran's theocracy is. Being myself is hardly "dogmatic". If anyone here was physically forced by this website or their government to take my position THAT would be dogmatic. Not agreeing with me or not liking me personally only means you don't like me.
Not agreeing with you does not mean that I don't like you. Not liking the way you go on rants only means that I don't like how you turn threads into rants.

My dad turns every conversation into a rant eventually.
I just smile and nod now. You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.
My dad does the same with politics.
Perhaps smiling and nodding is the best wisdom.

You didn't stick a mirror to me. You stuck a mirror to your own army of strawmen. As for the all caps thing, it is considered shouting, which is covered in our forum etiquette under guidelines. Use bold tags instead. RE: A person on another forum was mean to me!
