It certainly would make it more emphatic. The fact is, observed reality does clash with the Genesis account of creation, and there's no need to treat it as a debate anymore; evolution is a done deal, and those that cling to creationism are simply flat out wrong.
That said, you'll still get the usual apologetics, the "god wants it that way," stuff you mention, and while I'm not going to outright deny that- I can't, and stay honest- I'd at least hope that the person making such a claim would understand that it's entirely unassailable and not a sufficient reason to believe. It's just a post hoc attempt to justify an existing assumption.
