Not quite.
Fresh kangaroo meat is sold here by many butchers and supermarkets in several forms, includng sausages and even metwurst. An excellent, tasty meat, with far less fat than beef.
Although commercially harvested (shot) there is not yet any large scale kangaroo farming in Australia. Not being herd animals and being far less intelligent than sheep, kangaroos are hard to control. Eg if a sheep dog tries to round up kangaroos, they will scatter and can kill a dog if cornered.
Kangaroo meat is also a lot more expensive than beef and not very popular. Yes, I've eaten it,but prefer not to for aesthetic reasons.
