I would argue that it 's apathy in developed countries which has lead to the decline in religion as religion becomes increasingly irrelevant.
ME? I really could not give a flying horned fucknasty what people believe,don't believe,feel or do,as long as they obey the law and stay out of my face. Some might call that attitude 'apathy'. I call it 'pragmatism':I decline to worry about things over which I have no control and have no interest in trying to change other people.
