Ann Romney's MS hypocrisy.
August 27, 2012 at 6:41 pm
I recently saw on cable news an interview with her about finding out she had MS. And while no human or their loved ones is going to want to go through such a discovery, all I could think is, "yea Ann it sucks" just like it would for another person to discover their kid had cancer. So why is it in this interview you cried about your own suffering, WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE, but want to cut off economic resources to the middle class and poor who also suffer MS and a multitude of other life threatening illness?
I am sorry Ann, but when your rightfully cry like any human would "I don't want to die", your attitude and that of your husband about the resources of the lower two classes who suffer from all the things all humans suffer from, it seems a bit hypocritical for you to ask for sympathy when you make money the issue and self the issue.

You do not understand she is a real person so her "suffering" could happen to anyone..... she's not some filthy peasant who couldn't afford proper insurance....... she's a "real person"
Quote:Limiting malpractice claims does not help over 30-million Americans gain access to affordable healthcare insurance, but like Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said, “uninsured Americans are not the issue;” industry profits, on the other hand, are of paramount importance.
Romney’s plan to cap malpractice damages will certainly benefit the bottom line of insurance companies, but as a replacement for the President’s signature healthcare law, it does nothing for consumers or tens-of-millions of uninsured Americans. It is another in a long list of examples of Romney’s purpose for seeking the presidency; to benefit the ultra-wealthy and big business at the expense of the rest of America.
That he disapproved or cut-off funding for MS research informs that he could not care less about whether chronic illness sufferers wither away and die, or live a productive life like Mrs. Willard does because she is rich.
For the record, as governor of Massachusetts, Willard also disapproved cervical/breast cancer benefits, prostate cancer prevention and treatment, universal newborn hearing screening, school breakfast pilot program, child abuse prevention, certified nurse’s aide training scholarships, programs for the indigent mentally ill, and Multiple Sclerosis research.

My sister has MS. She isn't rich and she manages not to be a little bitch about it. However, I secretly think she is a super hero. Ann Romney, not a super hero.

Does it live up to the money you spend on it at least?

I guess that depends on your point of view.
Treatment usually helps improve quality of life. There is no cure for MS,but it is not a fatal disease..
Quote:Multiple sclerosis (MS), also known as "disseminated sclerosis" or "encephalomyelitis disseminata", is an inflammatory disease in which the fatty myelin sheaths around the axons of the brain and spinal cord are damaged, leading to demyelination and scarring as well as a broad spectrum of signs and symptoms.[1] Disease onset usually occurs in young adults, and it is more common in women.[1] It has a prevalence that ranges between 2 and 150 per 100,000.[2] MS was first described in 1868 by Jean-Martin Charcot.[3]
MS affects the ability of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to communicate with each other effectively. Nerve cells communicate by sending electrical signals called action potentials down long fibers called axons, which are contained within an insulating substance called myelin. In MS, the body's own immune system attacks and damages the myelin. When myelin is lost, the axons can no longer effectively conduct signals.[4] The name multiple sclerosis refers to scars (scleroses—better known as plaques or lesions) particularly in the white matter of the brain and spinal cord, which is mainly composed of myelin.[3] Although much is known about the mechanisms involved in the disease process, the cause remains unknown. Theories include genetics or infections. Different environmental risk factors have also been found.[4][5]
