I actually voted yes in the poll. Even though I 100% get why we don't have it, I still voted yes for the principle of being able to give negative rep if we are able to give positive. But my ideas for why it would be used are only in an ideal world, and not likely to happen in actuality. I know that if we were given the option to give negative rep it would be abused and it would create unneeded forum drama and a negative vibe.

Still, in an 'ideal' world, negative rep could (I think) still be used in a positive and constructive way. People who did receive negative rep would potentially make a conscious effort to improve themselves.

But fuck if that would actually happen.

Tight-arse.

Well I got a pos-rep, which made me chuckle. I think that (mainly) it's just a noticeable difference between here and the previous forum I used that had a rep system. Horses for courses, and all that.

One forum I was on (a few years back) was the first time that I encountered a rep system in forums. It wasn't a pleasant experience. There were some seriously fucked-in-the-head members, there. And I really do mean that literally, not figuratively. It was a hang-out of a friend, and she suggested I join.

I got my fair share of positive rep, but if you fall out with the wrong person... ooo boy. I'm pretty confident that, to this day, they're still counting down to midnight each night so that they can neg rep me again. I'm vaguely intrigued to visit that forum to see if they've blown the max-allowed number.

So, yeah... neg reps aren't such a great idea. They really can result in tit-for-tat wars.

I went on one forum where you could give multiple reps over a period of time. I think it's a stupid idea.

But still neutral rep could be added,we can tell members we dont like them, and we still wount change their rep.

And then someone would be annoyed about their 100% pos rep history being clouded by a neutral rep. This is human beings we're talking about, here... just a few generations (and a power-cut) away from chimpanzee hierarchy.

Damn. Reading that is practically foreplay. Are you sure you're not really a hot babe?

Unless you're a man.

Well, assuming your sweater puppies are at least hormone-natural, it may not matter as much as you think. Be sure to include photos.

Yeah and we did for some time.

But it still breeds the negativity no one really wants here.

This might be the single most useful attribute for rapid reputation gain... Tiger

Did I mention my big breasts? You can't prove I'm not an attractive woman. Unless you can, in which case you can.

Oi! Angry

I must say, though... despite making a lot of what (to me) seemed like entertaining/amusing/informative posts... you lot are tight-arsed as hell when it comes to giving out reputation points. Wink

You've been here for a little over a week and have 3? Took me 2 1/2 months to get to 3.

I can only conclude that you have a huge rack or something.
