I must say, though... despite making a lot of what (to me) seemed like entertaining/amusing/informative posts... you lot are tight-arsed as hell when it comes to giving out reputation points. Wink

You've been here for a little over a week and have 3? Took me 2 1/2 months to get to 3.

I can only conclude that you have a huge rack or something.

Only if you talk about it all the time. Big Grin The key is to be all, "Oh, my boobs are so big. I just don't know what to do with them." at every possible opportunity.

I have found that negative reputation is often most used by the trolls and you might get someone with several alt accounts try to game the system in their favor. I've been on a website where it was abused so much, that the voting system fell out of favor...people just stopped caring about its implications.

There's that, yeah.

While some would use the system as it's intended, I think we'd quickly see a great many of those with unpopular opinions (e.g. theists, conservative politics, etc) negative repped into oblivion along with the trolls. The rep system already strongly resembles a popularity index, and with negative rep it would be even more so. Beyond a certain point it becomes meaningless.

I couldn't agree more. I was going for 17, no more and no less. I'm pretty happy with my results.

Yeah, but the thing with good results... is that one joker can come along and ruin everything.

RE: Negative reputation?
I didn't know what reps were until one day, I clicked on the rep and I saw the wonderful things people said to me. The first thought was I should send a "thank you" note or something but I thought probably that wasn't how people would go about doing things. Positive reps are pleasant and they make your day. I don't see a need for negative reps. Vinny who I have put on ignore will probably give me 100 negative reps a day.

What's so special about 17?
