Chuck Norris Warns of 1000 Years of Darkness
September 10, 2012 at 9:23 am
More evidence the Teabagger crowd is insane:
You know, I remember back in my conservative days when "socialism" wasn't just a pejorative bandied around to describe anyone you didn't like (or a code word for "the black president") but was an economic and political ideology and you typically didn't just call someone a "socialist" unless they advocated for socialism.

When did the republicans become the god party anyway?

Nixon's Southern Strategy started the decades long years of darkness for the GOP.

It was a gradual process, one I'm familiar with having been a secular Republican at one time.
You could trace it back to the 80s with the election of Reagan, though he seldom darkened the doorway to any church. At the time, the evangelicals were regarded as useful throwaways, much like how the Democrat Party treats liberals today. Reagan would toss them a bone or two like a half-hearted push for prayer in schools.
Then came the 1988 election when Bush Jr. led the evangelicals to elect his dad as president. There was a definite shift in power in the Republican ranks. The secularists and libertarians were in denial for much of the 90s but, in retrospect, that's when they really took control.
The election of Bush Jr. as president was the sign that the GOP had become the evangelical party. Now its the libertarians that are the useful throwaway group, as evident by Ron Paul's treatment at the recent GOP convention. I'm sure Tiberius or others could comment further on that issue.

Our country is going to shit? Well Chucky boy, financial expert and millionaire Suzie Orman says you are wrong. Suzie Orman says our country IS better off now. But what would a financial expert know?
So cut your crybaby crap asshole and understand that
"freedom" is not a monopoly owned by envangelicals where all others are mere house guests.
Stop spewing your lies about us liberals wanting a Stalin like nanny state. Abuse of power and monopolies of power, be they of a religious nature or political nature or class nature are ALL WRONG.
NOW FUCKWAD let me repeat, I love the free market, and I am glad for you that you got your success. But when you falsely claim pursicution of religion and class you make me want to puke.
Gadaffi was a billionaire, but that did not stop him from creating both a theocracy in which only his sect of religion was given rights, nor did that stop him from creating a political monopoly because of his wealth.
When we object to abuse of power and cost of living gap we are not calling for a nanny state jackass! Suze Orman is not poor, neither are John Stewart or Stephen King. They all got rich, like you, using the same free market you did. Being liberal is not socialism, it is merely a recognition that abuse of power is bad and a recognition that WE are all citizens, no matter our religion or class.
If the majority of congress during WW2 and after WW2 thought like you, we would have been over run by Germany because there would be no government mandated investment, and our highway system we still use today wouldn't have gotten built and we wouldn't have a middle class.
But you are right, there is an attack by us liberals, an attack on archaic pasts rooted in class and theocracy. There cannot be e-pluribus unum when one political party, one class, or one religion rules.
I do not want to see our free market end up looking like the slave wages of India and the cheating of China just so we can benefit the top 1%. And I do not want to see religion rule our country. Iran already does a great job of that. If you want to live in a country run on religion, go live in Iran.
But you will not get away with your lies and fear mongering. Not any more. No one is going to burn down your church nor is the government going to take away your mansion. You are merely acting like a childish brat when you don't always get your way.
Do yourself a favor Chucky, kick yourself in the nuts, it might wake you up out of your delusion.

I think that really was the root of it. Nixon saw that there are votes to be had in rallying the dregs of society, and point that as the direction for Republian party to gain power. All that followed since in the GOP camp is but the nature progression of more and more shit sticking to existing shit.

Which if he did, would prove Brian right. Violence and censorship are the last resorts of people who know they're wrong.
